Every year the BWC Safety Council Program presents awards to Safety Council members in four categories. The South Metro Regional Safety Council presented their awards on May 9, 2019 at the annual CEO meeting held at Miami Valley Hospital South. On hand to present the awards was Michelle Francisco, Safety Council Program Manager, Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. The Group Award was presented to The Connor Group and GreenPoint Metals for the lowest incident rate in their respective groups. The 100% Award was presented to: A-1 Systems Integrations, Active Electric, Alcor Supply, Clear My Head, Freund, Freeze & Arnold, Hunter Consulting, Synergy Home Care and the South Metro Regional Chamber, this award is for zero injuries or illnesses that result in a day or more away from work. The Achievement Award for reducing their incident rate at least 25% over the previous year was presented to: Miami Valley Gaming and Racing, Montgomery County Education Service Center and West Carrollton Schools. The Special Award for at least 500,000 hours and at least six months without and injury resulting in a day or more away from work was presented to: City of West Carrollton, Dayton Christian School System, Nurses Care Inc. and West Carrollton City Schools. There is also a Multiple Award presented to business or organizations that have qualified in two or more categories. This Award was presented to: A-1Sprinkler Co., Authorized Grain Service, Centerville Washington Park District, City of Trotwood, Day Air Credit Union, Dayton Christian School System, Esther Price Candies Corp., Nurses Care, Senior Helpers and Therapeutic Riding Institute. Congratulations to all these businesses that work daily to make their workplaces safer for their employees.
